The LodgeThe lodge is spread out over acres of tropical gardens with a charming pool, in which to take a dip, surrounded by loungers for relaxation; an ideal spot to read a book. The main restaurants and bars offer alternative dining and drinking settings, all of which are rustic but elegantly designed. The open air kitchen attached to the the main restaurant is a restored brick and wood farm house, that offers guests the opportunity to observe the chefs create wonderful dishes from locally sourced natural produce. The service is relaxed but attentive and professional; the food options are varied and very well prepared. During the day guests can enjoy a walk through the gardens over the small bridges built to navigate the streams that crisscross the property or stroll over to the tumbling river that runs alongside the lodge grounds.

AccommodationRivertrees has two private houses for families or groups, the Farm House and the River House, and two River cottages offering privacy on the banks of the river at the edge of the property. The 30 standard garden rooms have a rustic exterior, however, the interiors are beautifully decorated with dark wood furniture, elegant fittings, and thoughtful personal touches, such as, fresh flowers in each room. They all offer a small veranda where guests can enjoy the natural surroundings.

Activities and AdventuresAlthough Rivertrees is generally considered to be a first or last stop to relax en-route to a northern circuit safari, there are a variety of adventurous activities that can be arranged from the lodge, such as guided mountain biking trips, Arusha National Park day trips, or canoeing trips on nearby Lake Duluti. The lodge can also arrange coffee plantation tours and village trips, however, advanced notice is recommended. Spending the stay relaxing and absorbing the natural beauty of the property from the comfort of a pool lounger is an equally enjoyable pass time.
