Unlike in Mahale, the chimps are not indigenous to Rubondo National Park, but rather, were rescued and rehabilitated there, along with a variety of other animals. Rubondo is easier to reach, with direct flights offered from the Serengeti, and due to the relaxed pace of the lodge, is a wonderful way to end a safari with a mixture of adventure and tranquility.
