Bird watching is a wonderful aspect of any Tanzanian safari with over 1,000 recorded bird species throughout the country, and a variety of endemic species. With many of the parks and reserves in Tanzania hosting between 400-500 known bird species, for many guests discovering the role birds play in the complex ecosystems is an unexpected highlight of any safari.
For keen birders, there are a couple of regions that are certainly worth visiting due to their abundance and variety of unique bird species; such as, Ruaha National Park, Selous Game Reserve, Arusha National Park, and Lake Manyara.
