The LodgeChada’s communal area is comprised of a canvas dining tent with a large wooden veranda along the outside. Within the tent lies a comfortable lounge area with a small library consisting of fascinating books about the surrounding wildlife. Breakfast and lunch are served inside the tent, with dinner being served on the veranda underneath the glowing starlit sky. Evening sundowners can be enjoyed around the camps charming fire pit. The lodges' interior is rustic but comfortable, with natural earthy colours and wooden furnishings, allowing it to blend seamlessly with its surroundings. What makes this camp truly special is the experience forged by its' unique location, and the intentionally simple style of the camp is an ode to the owners aim to create a minimal footprint on this untouched and completely unspoiled wilderness.

AccommodationChada camp offers 6 canvas tents, wonderfully spread out, allowing panoramic views and ensuring complete privacy. Each tent has a large comfortable bed, writing desk and ensuite bathroom with an eco-flush toilet, and outdoor bucket shower. The rooms are decorated with natural materials, such as, palm matted floors and woven blankets on the beds. All tents boast a covered wooden veranda, facing outwards towards the Katavi plains, with traditional director style safari chairs in which guests can relax and absorb the all encompassing bush.

Activities and AdventuresDriving in an open vehicle in Katavi, guests are unlikely to see many other vehicles, meaning that although you might have to search for game a little bit more carefully than in some of the more visited areas, you can enjoy your sightings in peace and solitude. Accompanied by an armed ranger, guests can explore the region on foot on a walking safari, enabling them to to fully experience first hand all aspects of the flora and fauna.
Fly camping, which involves venturing out into the bush on foot and camping under the stars, is the most immersive form of bush adventure and is a worthy addition to any stay in Chada. With all the basic comforts and safety provided, but with minimal distractions from the primary purpose of the adventure, which is observing the ever present wildlife. |
