Game drives are the most common way to explore the bush, as the animals have become accustomed to the vehicles and behave as if they aren’t there; facilitating close encounters. In Tanzania this always involves at least a driver/guide to explain the surrounding flora and fauna. Some camps offer a spotter and a guide to ensure maximum game sighting possibilities. In the southern parks and reserves, generally guests will have an open-sided 4x4 vehicle; whereas, in the northern parks, the closed sided vehicles are more common due to the long distances sometimes covered. However, the vehicles we utilize in the North, are customized made 4x4 Land Cruisers with a pop-up roof enabling excellent game viewing.
