The LodgeThe lodge comprises of the main camp, the private camp and the Mkombe house. Between the main camp and private camp there are a total of 12 rooms. Depending upon the size of the group occupying the private camp, the main camp has between 7-10 rooms, 2 of which are family rooms. The lodge also boasts a stunning main area with many alternative places for guests to relax with unparalleled views, and an impressive swimming pool.The self-contained private camp is for groups of guests who would like exclusive use of the property. Offering up to 5 rooms, a private swimming pool and a central lounge and dining area, this private camp provides complete seclusion in style.Mkombe’s House is a striking private house for families or groups travelling together, that offers the height of luxury and comfort in the bush. This beautifully decorated, child-friendly property boasts an in-house chef with flexible catering options and 2 swimming pools.

AccommodationThe rooms at Lamai are some of the most beautiful we’ve seen. They aren’t built in typical safari tent style but rather with walls around the sides, a thatched roof and a mosquito net across the front so guests can enjoy the views of the Serengeti below. They are elegantly decorated with wooden floors, splashes of colour throughout the furnishings and wooden stable style doors. There is a expansive wooden veranda along the front of the rooms, which is the ideal place to sip coffee in the morning or enjoy a sundowner in evening. The spacious en-suite bathrooms are cleverly built to offer the same breathtaking views as the bedrooms.

Activities and AdventuresOnce a year between July and October over a million wildebeest cross the crocodile infested waters of the Mara river. Due to Lamai’s close proximity to the river, guests staying here during these months are likely to see this incredible natural spectacle. Game drives also offer guests the opportunity to enjoy the wide variety of other game that make up the Serengeti ecosystem, such as lions, leopards, buffalo, hyenas, giraffes and many more. During periods of the dry season, when the grass is short, and therefore the bush is easier to navigate on foot, bush walks are offered on the surrounding kopjes and along river lines.
