The LodgeThe main lodge is a large building comprised of red bricks, wood and terracotta features epitomising reminiscent notions of colonial coffee plantations. The restaurant and lounge area have a cozy atmosphere with dark wood furniture and a large open fire. The lodge provides a broad menu and the service is highly attentive and personal. Outside the main building is the swimming pool and beautifully manicured gardens that boast numerous lovely picnic tables for guests to enjoy lunch al-fresco.

AccommodationThere are 18 standard rooms and 12 suites, all of which retain the character and charm of the main buildings. Although referred to as rooms, they are closer to a spacious wood and brick cabin, well thought out with terraces, log wood fires, and ensuite bathrooms. All rooms have raw brick and white washed walls with dark wooden beams across the ceilings and offer views of the lush gardens surrounding the lodge.

Activities and AdventuresAlthough many travelers visit Arusha for a night or two, for those who would like to experience some of the cultural experiences Tanzania has to offer, this lodge provides an ideal base camp from which guests can venture further afield. Guests can participate in trips to Arusha National Park, local villages and museums, Maassai markets, tours and picnics in the working coffee plantations. With an excellent spa on site, relaxing at the lodge by the pool between massages is also a wonderful way to pass the time.
The onsite Shanga Project, is a remarkable workshop where disabled craftsman are employed to create a variety of magnificent decorations and jewellery that guests can purchase in the accompanying shop. They are amazingly welcoming and will provide a tour through the workshop for those who are interested! |
