Detailed ItineraryDay 1: Olive Grove - Windhoek
(Luxury Room: Bed & Breakfast) After your arrival in Windhoek, you will be transferred to Olive Grove Guesthouse for your first nights stay. Later in the afternoon you will be met by a representative of our partner to introduce you to your vehicle, and brief you on its' equipment, the driving conditions, route and safety issues. |
Day 2 - Okonjima Campsite - Africat Foundation
(Camping: Rooftent) Today after breakfast, you will have a short driver safety course. After which you will be shown where to stock up on food supplies for your camping nights before embarking on your adventure. You will then set off to the Okonjima Reserve, home to the conservation organisations the 'AfriCat Foundation.' |
Day 3 - Onguma Campsite - Etosha National Park
(Camping: Rooftent) Today you drive north to the Onguma Reserve on the edge of Etosha National Park. You will stay at Onguma's Tamboti campsite which provides you with your own private site with a private ablution block. As a camper you are also able to use the facilities of the lodge for meals. You can either enjoy game drives within Etosha or in the nature reserve. Within the reserve it's also possible to embark on guided bush walks and sundowner game drives. |
Day 5 - Olifantrus Campsite - Etosha National Park
(Camping: Rooftent) Today you will drive to Olifantsrus Campsite, which is located in Western Etosha. This is a part of Etosha not often seen; only guests of Dolomite and Olifantsrus Campsite are allowed to enter, but its certainly worth the journey. |
Day 6 & 7 - Entendekka Mountain Camp - Damaraland
(Tented Room: All Meals) You will exit Etosha and take the scenic drive to Etendeka Mountain Camp, which is set in the north of Damaraland. This remote eco tented camp offers guests the opportunity to explore this unique eco-system in tranquility. In this region visitors might spot giraffe, mountain zebra, oryx, springbok, lion and even desert elephant and black rhino. The excellent hosting, and variety of activities of offer, such as guided walks and stargazing with their telescope make this property worth the drive. **They also offer a 2-3 day walking trail which involves overnighting under the stars in open-air 'sleeping platforms'. It's a wonderful alternative to the main camp for those who would like to forgo some comfort for adventure. ** |
Day 9 - Spitzkoppe Campsite - Damaraland
(Camping: Rooftent) Today you will drive to Spitzkoppe, which we think is one of the most beautiful areas in Namibia, consisting of an imposing granite rock formation set in the plains. Here you can walk in the area and climb up to Bushman’s Paradise, a small basin tucked between the domes of rock, where you can view the rock paintings done by Bushman of the past and gaze at the amazing view. The campsites here are very basic but we feel its worth sacrificing luxury to enjoy the beautiful landscapes here. Driving around the park to find a campsite among the rocks is part of the excitement. |
Day 10 & 11 - Desert Breeze - Swakopmund
(Luxury Bungalow: Bed & Breakfast) You will drive to the coastal town of Swakopmund - with palm-lined streets, seaside promenades and excellent bars and restaurants. This is also Namibia's activity centre, here you can do a range of activities, including; seal excursions, kayak tours, quad biking (on sand dunes), scenic flights (up the skeleton coast), desert tours and more. |
Day 12 - Sossus Dune Lodge - Sossusvlei
(Dune Chalet: Bed & Breakfast) You have quite a long drive as you continue south to Sossus Dune Lodge and the iconic vibrant red dunes of Sossusvlei where you'll be staying at one of the only lodges with the national park gates. We recommend getting up early watch the sunrise over the dunes! |
Day 14: Eningu Clayhouse - Windhoek
(Standard Room: Dinner, Bed & Breakfast) You will head to Eningu Clayhouse Lodge for your final night. The lodge is stunning, peaceful and is without doubt one of the most relaxing and tranquil lodges you will encounter on your journey. The stunning setting and wonderful hosting make Eningu the perfect last stop on a Namibia self-drive safari. |
