Boat safaris offer a relaxing break from traditional driving safaris and are a fantastic way to observe crocodiles and hippos closely, and offer unique game viewing opportunities on the shores of lakes and rivers. During the dry season with other water sources depleted, all resident animals proliferate along their shores in order to drink, allowing for an unusual concentration and the inevitable interactions between species. Selous Game Reserve offers spectacular boat safaris, with some lodges even providing pontoon lunches and evening boat sundowners, which is a wonderfully tranquil way to absorb the scenic beauty of the bush.
